This project is a discord bot that you can add to a server so you can get random Jeopardy! questions, answer them, and keep track of you and your friends results over time!
Growing up my dad and I would always sit down after dinner at 7:30, watch Jeopardy!, “buzz in”, answer questions. As I got older and learned more, we started keeping score. We used paper, then upgraded to little phone apps to track individual nights then kept tracking over time.
Then over time I found J-Archive.com and used that to have fun guess/answering questions and after a while. I realized there is another way we could do this. I could have a bot that you could ask for a question, and it would randomly pull, then ask, and you have to answer.
This has worked out to be quite a good time. My friends and I have a little server with a few channels and people can hop in, get some questions, answer, see their lifetime results and and maybe have a chat about the questions or other Jeopardy! related things and carry about their day.
I also created an associated webpage. JeopardyDB.com where you can just get a random Jeopardy! question and then see the answer whenever you want and you can generate new questions. It’s not as interactive but it’s lightweight and you can just get questions and sate your curiousity.
